Our Mission
MISSION
Door to Grace provides restorative care services and safe shelter for children who are survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.
VISION
Door To Grace ensures that sexually exploited youth find necessary, vital resources to sustain their progression from surviving to thriving. These resources will be interwoven with our commitment to demonstrating Christ’s love and redemptive healing in our actions. Initially we are concentrating our program on girls as they represent 94% of the exploited population and have been the focus of our training efforts. When God guides and allows, we will begin serving boys as our training and experience grow.
SAFE HOMES
Providing exploited children with a safe place to live, with a loving, supportive, host family, extensively trained by Door To Grace, is crucial. Loving families are sustained and supported by a dedicated and tightly networked community of volunteers who provide additional care, mentoring, family respite and many other benefits. Such care and cooperation bolsters both the child and the host family.
Our safe homes protect and house children for a flexible duration (between a few days to 18 months or more). Some safe homes will provide short-term safe shelter, providing necessary structure and support. Newly safe children find life-giving space, begin re-envisioning their new life, and thinking through their next steps. For more stable children, longer-term safe homes provide enrichment, challenge and support. Recovering from exploitation, these children can develop tools to pursue their dreams.
HOLISTIC SERVICES
Additionally, Door To Grace provides residents with wrap-around support services tailored to meet key individual needs. These services address the child’s physical, emotional, intellectual, mental, and spiritual health, as well as providing life skills and leadership development training. Staff, volunteers and community agencies provide these new, life-giving opportunities.
